Building Pride throughout the
Impact Project, a volunteer home improvement group, has allowed the students of LPP to literally rebuild their communities.
In partnership with Jim Willard and Impact Project, LPP students have spent the last three summers completing various community service projects throughout the area. The partnership, which began during the summer of 2014, joins students from Susquehanna Valley High School and Owego Free Academy to help members of their community with home repairs. The first project was completed in only two days, when students sanded, painted, and primed an elderly woman’s home. Since that time, painting, weeding, planting, and overall cleanups have been completed on down-trodden properties throughout the Southern Tier. This partnership will continue to connect students with opportunities to help those in need, building a rewarding bond between LPP and Impact, and ultimately inspiring students to become even more involved in their communities.
