“I started working after school with the PLAAY Program where I learned leadership and how to communicate with and reach all the kids I worked with, instead of just the ones I resonated most with. I learned not all ‘bad kids’ are terrible, they just need a leader, and I feel as though I was one to provide that for them… I thrived to help kids see that they can rise above the societal standards that were set for them. Not only did I want to lead kids into being what they want to be, but I strive to show them the people they currently are…By helping lead kids into revealing their true self, if often times inspires me to look into my true self and stop worrying who I look up to as much and worry about the person I am becoming and want to be.”
